All
his life he’s been graduating. From one step of life to another
and always for the best. Colson is one of three children, and the
other two are girls, so you can imagine how far this young man has
come in life to have survived this. Colson
has always been deep as far as his thoughts are concerned. He’s
always been a thoughtful person, even as a little boy. As
a matter of fact the school he went to had a special award that was
used for the first time. It was a "Well Mannered
Award", we were shocked the first time they gave it out. The
teacher said, "Even when he steps on your toes, he stops and
says, "I’m sorry". Everyone laughed, he just lowered his
head and smiled.
He always been
very protective about his things, he never wants to throw anything
away, knows everything he has in his room, and believe me, he has a
huge room but make no mistake, he knows what he has. He has a
place for everything and is an avid collector. He
used to line up his cars and airplanes and when he’d leave the
room we take one or else move one from the place he left it, he
looked and looked and then he’d turn around and ask who touched
his toys. He has a beautiful collection of knives and swords and
knows about each of them.
His father has
always told his children, as long as they behave and are good
children, he will go to the ends of the earth to make sure they have
anything they need and want. Colson
is a very hard working young man. As a little boy he helped in
his father's ministry by sweeping up the gym after a food outreach
or picking up boxes and papers. He has cleaned the church many
times but of course he made the mess many times as a child
also. He is not embarrassed to worship and lets you know in a
moment he is a Christian. He
knows that God is real in his life.
He loads and
unloads food at New Beginning Outreach and also keeps the grass cut,
he works in any part of the ministry he is called to do. He
runs the forklift to line up food for the ministers to pick up,
helps in repairs and also can run the equipment if necessary.
He is very quick with electronics and has always loved taking apart
the equipment when it has failed. His Father always gave him
the old computers and VCR’s and he would take them apart and they
would work again, of course it was just a magic touch. Colson
never really knew what he did to make it work. He
is always at the call of his family, especially his sisters.
Others may think they are bossy but he thinks if they need him they
call on him and he always tries his best to please them. He
always has been my pride and joy. He never fails to tell us he
loves us and gives his Popaw and I a hug.
He feeds and
waters the horses and many times has saddled the horses and got them
ready for his sisters to ride. He’s also a very good rider
himself but has other interest in mind. He
is a very hard worker and works and makes his own money to buy the
things he wants and needs. He works around the barn and cleans
the horses and the stalls. His heart is very large, even as a
child he never in anyway would hurt an insect or an animal.
His first puppy he found that someone had set out, he carried it
under his shirt for hours feeding it hotdogs till he could get the
nerve up to ask his parents if he could keep her. Her name was
Lucy.
I just want this
young man to know he is so very special to us and we pray he never
changes from the person he is now, that the world will only have an
impact on him to make it better. He
has goals in mind for his future as an electrician, he also wants to
learn to fly a plane and right now his favorite goal which he will
succeed at, is to be a Big Time Wrestler. This is a work out
thing he loves doing. He’s in to exercising and running and
lifting weights.
This does not detour him from church or
working in the ministry. He
is still the same wonderful son, grandson and brother he has always
been since he was a child. He is well respected and loved by
anyone who is blessed to have met him.
