Little
Girls and Boys
I
remember this day, it was party
time.
It was our birthday , yours and
mine.
Mom said, hold hands,
"Yuck", I said she's a
girl;
Little did I know they would
make my world.
We
got our first tricycle with
three wheels.
No falling off that was a
thrill.
We were close as cousins
supposed to be.
Didn’t know any better we were
just past three.
You
were so prissy and I still think
you are.
Your were the brains for both of
us by far.
I depended on common sense and
you on the books.
You thought you were pretty but
I thought I had the looks.

Together
we both made it through school.
Me hanging on and you following
the rules.
You stayed on top of things
always doing it right.
I played around and stayed up
all night.
You
were tough and hit on me but Mom
said, don’t hit a girl.
But I knew when she turned her
back, I’d give you a whirl.
We both went to church but the
horses I did ride.
But we both had the Lord on our
side.

It’s
been many a year but all in all
I must say.
The Lord has blessed us and he
would have it no other way.
We are in the Lords will and
where we're supposed to be.
That cute little girl and
handsome boy "ME".
