Paper
Dolls
What
ever happen to the little girls
with curls
Those that lived in a paper doll
world.
All you hear now is Barbie and
Ken
But I like to remember way back
when.
Out of a catalog you cut and you
pasted
On a piece of cardboard no paper
was wasted.
The dolls all were dressed in
their very best
When you twisted and turned them
they stood the test.
Now they must talk or dance or
sing
And on their hand a diamond
ring.
Fancy cars and houses too
What's a poor little girl to do.
Get out that catalog and you
will see
A doll that will be anything you
want her to be.
Don't need those old store
bought dolls like Barbie and Ken
Get out that book and do like we
did way back then.
Yes, I ask what ever happen to
the little girls with curls
The ones who lived and loved the
paper doll world.
