Victoria And Mamaw

The No Word

She has big brown eyes that can melt your heart with a stare
If you look deep within, you would have to stay there.
She will draw you like a tree drawn toward the sun
We felt this from the first day her life begun.

There is a voice that cries from her heart from deep within
And when she cries we know there is a heart to mend.
She doesn't speak, there are no words to say
Bless her heart, she heard the "No" word today.

She looks so pitiful, quiet but crying out
Wanting to cry and she's wanting to shout.
But her heart is broken, to weak to fight
I see in her eye a twinkle, a glimmer of light.

Inside this little person is I know one of a kind
You have to be smart and work on her mind.
She may be small but she uses that to say
I'll do it now but I'll win on another day.

Victoria at the age of two and a half, A little woman in a child's body.
We have, I know entered into a whole new world of children as we know them.
Mamaw.
