Amanda Goes Shopping

Amanda Goes Shopping.

Amanda is dreading this day, she does not like to go shopping . Now toy shopping is different that is fun. Of course first thing Benjamin jumps up and wants to go, Amanda tells Mommy "No please, remember the last time he went? We had to look all over the place for him". Mommy told her "yes we did but remember how cute he was? He had gone to the pet store and was in a big box full of puppies, you know that is where he will go". But Amanda was a little unhappy, she loved Benjamin but she dreaded spending half the day searching for him. "Mom, I have an idea" she said, "lets put one of those leashes on him for children. He can be right with us that way". "Okay" said Mom "I think I still have yours" and she smiled. "What?" Amanda said, "you put one of those on me?" "Yes honey" Mommy said, "guess how I knew where to look for Benjamin?" and she laughed. "Did I go to the puppies too?" " Yes darling you did." "Oh okay", Amanda said "let's get on our way" and she yelled for Benjamin to come on. She rolled her beautiful blue eyes and looked at Benjamin, "now Benjamin" she told him, "you have to stay next to me or Mommy today, you can’t run through the stores." Benjamin looked at her and said, "are we going to the puppy store?" Mom and Amanda looked at each other and smiled. Amanda thought, this is not going to be a good day, I can see that already.

Mommy buckled Benjamin and Amanda in their car seats and off they went. Amanda was thinking what it was going to be like when the twins, Kimmy and Andy got big enough to go. "Oh goodness" she said "I hope I am in college or a long ways off". She fell asleep thinking of the dreadful day that would happen and as she did she began to dream....

They had gotten to the big mall and the kids, all three of them, Benjamin and Kimmy and Andy started screaming and laughing because they were so happy, but the minute the doors came open, out they jumped and started running to the doors. Amanda took off after Benjamin and Mom took off after the twins. It was so funny it looked like a foot race of some kind. The kids of course headed for the pet store. This time they ran from cage to cage and open the doors for the pets, the kittens ran out into the mall, the puppies took off everywhere and the little birds were so scared of the noise they took off flying everywhere, people were running and trying to catch them.

"Amanda, Amanda" Mom shook her, "honey you are dreaming, wake up." Amanda was saying no, no, no, Benjamin was looking at her like, what is your problem girl? Amanda sat straight up in her seat. Thank Goodness she was dreaming. She said, "Mom instead of shopping for me today, lets just take Benjamin to the pet store and let him pet the puppies and then come home, I think that would be a lot more fun. I don’t really need to go shopping today." Mom just smiled, she said, " honey, your Dad is going to meet us here with the twins and we are going to have lunch, it’ll be okay." Amanda just shook all over to see if she was still dreaming...
